A meeting of the Committee of the Whole of Council was held in the Committee Room, Civic Centre on July 21, 2015 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:14 a.m.

PRESENT:

Councillor J. Albanese, Chairperson; Mayor R.Avis; Councillors K. Perry, P. Ryan, W. Brunetta, J. Caul and D. Kitowski.

ALSO PRESENT:

M. McCaig, Administrator, E. Slomke, Clerk; W. Derksen, solicitor (8:30 a.m. to 9:40 a.m.), T. Rob, CBO (9:45 a.m. to 10:14 a.m.).

Kitowski - Caul: THAT a special meeting of the Committee of the Whole of Council of the Town of Fort Frances be now convened and the notice provisions in sections 4 and 5 of Procedure By-law No. 34/95 be suspended.

Caul - Kitowski: THAT the provisions of Section 5a) of the Procedural By-law No. 34/95 be suspended to allow non-agenda items to be considered at this meeting.

Potential Litigation - Agency One Matters

-An update was provided by the CAO with input from the town solicitor.  Council provided unanimous support of the matter moving forward.

Disposition of Land - Inquiry for Municipal Land

- The CAO provided a brief update.

Acquisition of Land - Potential Purchase of Property

- An update was provided by T. Rob, CBO.  Council gave direction.

Brunetta - Ryan: THAT Committee of the Whole of Council now meet in-camera in order to address a matter pertaining to:

- a proposed or pending acquisition of land for municipal or local board purposes or disposal of land no longer needed for municipal purposes, more specifically Item 2.2 Inquiry for Municipal Land and non-agenda Item 2.3 Potential Purchase of Property

- litigation or potential litigation, including matters before administrative tribunals, affecting the municipality or local board, more specifically Item 2.1 Agency One Matters
