Term:
30 Nov 2020 - 30 Nov 2022
About:

June Caul is a lifelong resident of Fort Frances.  She is a retired teacher.  June has a daughter and son who both reside and work in our community, and June has five grandchildren.  She has been very involved as a volunteer in the community for over thirty years; she is a member of the Substance Abuse Prevention Team, the Right Relations Committee, Fort Frances Kiwanis Club, the Age-Friendly Community Committee, Youth Centre Committee, the Chair of her Church Council and Rainycrest Auxiliary and helps to organize the Annual Christmas Dinner each year.  June is a past member of the Assisted Living Action Group, SALT (Seniors and Law Enforcement Together) Committee and a past director of the Fort Frances Bass Championship.

June is very excited to be the first female Mayor of Fort Frances and looks forward to moving our community into the future.  Fort Frances has the lowest power rates in Ontario, excellent potable water and is a very friendly community.  We have an excellent Library and Technology Centre, Museum, Parks, Marina, the new Rainy Lake Square in the heart of our downtown area, Memorial Sportsplex with two skating surfaces, a swimming pool, gym and squash courts.  We will continue working with Resolute Forest Products to hopefully acquire a buyer and developer for the paper and kraft mill, create an amicable partnership with our First Nations neighbours to redevelop the Point Park, design and develop our recently acquired Mill Woodyard to hopefully include residential, business and recreational opportunities to enhance our community for residents and tourists.  We need to expand residential properties to welcome new residents, have safe, secure transitional housing for seniors, and welcome new businesss.  We continue to build on our asset management plan to ensure the constant improvement of our infrastructure.

The next four years hold many opportunities for our great community and Mayor and Council look forward to serving our residents and neighbours.
